Netflix has presented an initial look at the limited series adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, featuring Emma Corrin in the role of Elizabeth Bennet.
The image, displayed above, offers a sneak peek at the women of the Bennet family, showcasing Corrin’s Elizabeth alongside Olivia Colman’s Mrs. Bennet. The casting of the remaining Bennet sisters is also revealed, with Freya Mavor (Industry) portraying Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) as Lydia Bennet, and newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery playing Mary Bennet and Kitty Bennet, respectively.
Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) will complete the family as Mr. Bennet, while Louis Partridge (House of Guinness) takes on the role of Mr. Wickham. Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) joins the cast as Mr. Collins, and Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) appears as Lady Catherine de Bourg. Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) will portray Mr. Bingley, with Siena Kelly (Black Mirror) as Caroline Bingley.
Further cast announcements include Anjana Vasan (We Are Lady Parts) as Mrs. Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto (Gangs of London) as Mr. Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero (KAOS) as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber (Three Little Birds and Die Zweiflers) as Mrs. Hurst, James Dryden (Deadpool) as Mr. Hurst, Justin Edwards (The Thick Of It) as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote (The Last Kingdom) as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb (The Queen’s Gambit) as Harriet Forster, and Isabella Sermon (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Georgiana Darcy.
These new cast members join the previously announced stars Corrin, Colman, and Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), who will portray Mr. Darcy.
The six-episode limited series, written by Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), is promoted as a “faithful, classic adaptation” of Jane Austen’s beloved novel. Alongside Alderton, Lyn, and Corrin, the show is executive produced by Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter from Lookout Point, with Lisa Osborne serving as a producer.
