Netflix has reaffirmed its deep commitment to Korean entertainment, unveiling a robust 2026 slate that blends star-powered dramas, gripping thrillers, and fan-favorite reality series. At a press event in Seoul, Kang Dong-han, Vice President of Netflix Korea, emphasized the platform’s long-term investment in K-content, calling it a cornerstone of global storytelling.
“Ten years ago, the idea that Korean series would inspire global costume trends and K-pop soundtracks would top international charts might have seemed fantastical,” Kang remarked. “Today, it’s reality. And we’re just getting started.” He reiterated Netflix’s unwavering support for Korean creators, driven by a belief in the universal appeal of Korean narratives.
Leading the 2026 drama roster is the romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand, headlined by BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in her latest acting role. She stars as a weary webtoon producer who dives into a virtual dating simulation to escape real-life pressures, opposite actor Seo In-guk. The series promises a fresh take on love, technology, and emotional authenticity.
Thriller enthusiasts can look forward to The Rat, a psychological cat-and-mouse game starring Ryu Jun-yeol and Sul Kyung-gu. Adapted from a popular webtoon inspired by Korean folklore, the story follows a reclusive writer battling a mysterious imposter who has stolen his identity—blurring the lines between myth and reality.
Acclaimed actor Choi Min-sik makes his Netflix debut in Notes from the Last Row, a suspense-driven drama based on Juan Mayorga’s play The Boy in the Last Row. He plays a disillusioned professor whose obsession with a gifted student spirals into a moral and psychological crisis.
Fans of action and brotherhood will welcome Bloodhounds Season 2, continuing the explosive journey of Gun-woo and Woo-jin (Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi). This season introduces Jung Ji-hoon as a chilling antagonist ruling a global underground boxing ring, raising the stakes both physically and emotionally.
On the reality front, Netflix is doubling down on its unscripted success. Single’s Inferno returns for Season 5, while Better Late Than Single comes back for a second run, celebrating first-time daters with heart and humor. Culinary Class Wars heats up again in Season 3, now shifting to team-based battles where chefs from the same restaurant compete together—adding a new layer of camaraderie and rivalry. “Chefs are lining up to join—so am I!” said judge Anh Sung-jae.
Other returning hits include Agents of Mystery Season 2 and The Devil’s Plan Season 3, both produced by Jung Jong-yeon, promising more mind games and strategic brilliance.
With talents like Jeon Do-yeon (Possible Love), Nam Joo-hyuk (The East Palace), Son Ye-jin (Scandal), and Park Eun-bin (The Wonderfuls) also confirmed for upcoming projects, Netflix Korea’s 2026 slate is shaping up to be its most ambitious yet.
