The upcoming K-drama inspired by Hideo Okuda’s crime novel, “Naomi to Kanako,” is set to debut at the 30th Busan International Film Festival and will be available on Netflix starting November 7, 2025. This thrilling series features Lee You Mi, known for her role in Squid Game, alongside Jeon So Nee, who gained recognition from Parasyte: The Grey.
Titled As You Stood By, this South Korean crime drama is directed by Lee Jung Rim and produced by StudioS, Ghost Studio, and Mizi Film. The initial release date is slated for November 7, 2025, but Netflix has yet to confirm this, meaning it could change.
The first two episodes are scheduled to make their debut at the 30th Busan International Film Festival on September 18, 2025. The story revolves around two childhood friends, one suffering from domestic violence inflicted by her abusive spouse, who find themselves pushed to their limits, resulting in the murder of her husband and the concealment of his body. Will brighter days follow, or will their actions come back to haunt them?
Jeon So Nee portrays the character Eun Su, previously seen in Parasyte: The Grey as Jung Soo In. Beyond Netflix, her credits include popular K-dramas like Our Blooming Youth, When My Love Blooms, and Encounter.
Lee You Mi plays Hui Su and has made her mark in major Netflix series, appearing in Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead. She is also known for her role in the fantasy romance Strong Girl Namsoon and the upcoming Netflix project Mr. Plankton.
Jang Seung Jo takes on the role of Jin Pyo, marking his first leading part in a Netflix series since portraying Lee Joon in the 2019 K-drama Chocolate. He recently appeared in The Frog in a supporting role.
Lee Moo Saeng plays Jin So Baek, recently featured in the second season of Gyeongseong Creature as Captain Kuroko. He has also acted in both seasons of The Glory as Kang Yeong Cheon, along with performances in other Netflix productions such as Thirty-Nine, The Silent Sea, Chocolate, Designated Survivor: 60 Days, and Prison Playbook.
