Strong blend of love and life

Masti’s A Cocktail of Emotions is an original web series now streaming on recently launched Telugu digital platform Aha. It is a poignant portrayal of love and relationships and is produced by Y.Rajeev Reddy and Saibabu Jagarlamudi under First Frame Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Story

Love makes the world go round and here too love is the central character. Pranav (Navdeep) is an ad film maker who loves his wife Gowri (Bindu Madhavi) immensely. He gifts her a lounge bar ‘Masti’ on their anniversary as a token of love.
Anand (Raja Chembolu) who works in same lounge loves his colleague, an over ambitious Lekha (Chandini Chowdary) who rejects him due to her misconceptions about life.
Tanya (Hebah Patel) is an upcoming singer who performs at Masti’s and tries hard to keep her band intact despite disturbances created by two of her band mates in the name of love.
Pranav on the other hand lands up in a mess due to his extra marital affairs, jeopardising his marriage and career. How all these characters cope up with challenges thrown at them in the name of love, rejection and relationships forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Navdeep as usual excels in his role with an impeccable performance while Bindu Madhavi who is back in Telugu content after a long gap is brilliant as well.
Chandini Chowdary who started getting noticed after her performance in highly acclaimed Telugu web series G.O.D. once again proves her acting prowess with Lekha’s character.
Furthermore, Raja Chembolu is impressive but Hebah Patel is off shade in a character that does not bring the best out of her. Akshara Gowda as Simran who is a model adds that extra glamour quotient to Masti’s.

Positives
The master story teller Krish Jagarlamudi, who has a credible list of feature films in his name, succeeds in showcasing consequences of extra marital relationships. He exposes the delicate thread that separates personal and professional life in this web series perfectly.
Creator Krish Jagarlamudi and Director Ashok Bhuyan (who directed the first Telugu web series Gangstars for Amazon Prime Video) deserve a lot of credit for conceiving and presenting this complicated tale convincingly.
Smaran’s music is another asset with some good remixes of hit Telugu film songs.

Negatives

Not many flaws are there to point out but Masti’s leaves the viewers with a lot of unanswered questions. This is possibly a setup for a second season but the web series feels incomplete without the conclusions provided.

Worth it?

It is watchable for good performances by some very established actors. The creators have done a good job therefore, Masti’s is well made and well worth your time.
