Labyrinth in Concert 2026 UK Tour Announced
Fans of Jim Henson’s beloved 1986 fantasy Labyrinth have reason to celebrate, as the cult classic prepares to return to UK venues in a spectacular live concert experience in April 2026. To mark its 40th anniversary, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert will combine a full screening of the film with live musicians performing its unforgettable soundtrack.
The announcement follows a previously confirmed series of performances set for November 2025. The newly expanded 2026 leg will take the production across 13 major UK cities, starting at Oxford New Theatre on Monday, April 13th, and concluding at Poole Lighthouse on Thursday, April 30th. Stops along the way include Brighton, Southend, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bath, Nottingham, York, Birmingham, and Manchester.
A Cinematic Treasure Turned Cult Phenomenon
When Labyrinth first premiered in 1986, it enjoyed only modest success at the box office. However, over the years it became a home entertainment sensation, developing a passionate international fanbase through television airings and video releases. Directed by legendary puppeteer Jim Henson and produced by George Lucas, the film features David Bowie in one of his most memorable roles as Jareth, the enigmatic Goblin King, alongside a young Jennifer Connelly as Sarah.
Its creative fusion of puppetry, fantasy storytelling, and Bowie’s distinctive musical flair cemented Labyrinth as a pop culture touchstone that continues to inspire audiences decades later.
Bringing Bowie’s Music to Life
The concert experience will feature a live band performing the full soundtrack as the film plays on the big screen. Bowie recorded five original songs for the feature — including fan favourites such as Underground, Magic Dance, Chilly Down, As the World Falls Down, and Within You.
According to John Kinsner, CEO of event producers Black Ink Presents, this project is the realization of a long-held dream. “I’ve always been a huge admirer of the collaboration between Jim Henson, George Lucas, David Bowie, and Trevor Jones,” Kinsner said. “Bringing Labyrinth to the stage in this live concert format allows fans to immerse themselves in Bowie’s music and the film’s timeless magic like never before.”
