K-pop agency ADOR today called on girl group “NewJeans” to reunite and resume their group activities following their recent victory in a legal battle.
The Seoul High Court’s ruling two days ago marks the latest development in an ongoing legal dispute between the group’s members and the agency.
In a media statement released today, the agency expressed gratitude for the court’s decision, saying, “We are deeply thankful for the court’s ruling.”
They added, “We hope this decision acts as a catalyst for the members to reclaim their place as NewJeans and recommence their group activities.”
The agency also pointed out that the group’s third debut anniversary is fast approaching.
“As NewJeans nears their third debut anniversary next month, we will do everything in our power to support their ongoing development and success,” ADOR stated.
On Monday, the High Court dismissed an appeal from the group members, reaffirming a prior ruling that confirmed ADOR as the legitimate manager of the group.
The court also supported the agency’s efforts to prevent the members from entering into independent advertising agreements.
“NewJeans” had previously asserted that their contracts with ADOR were terminated in November 2024 due to alleged violations by the company.
Following this claim, the members initiated independent promotional efforts.
In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit to establish the validity of the contracts and sought an injunction to stop the group from promoting independently.
This legal drama has garnered significant attention from K-pop fans worldwide, many of whom are hopeful for a reunion in time for the group’s anniversary in July.
