Jennifer Lopez turned a wardrobe malfunction into a memorable moment during her concert in Warsaw, Poland, proving once again why she’s a pro on stage.
While celebrating her 56th birthday on July 24 at PGE Narodowy, the pop icon yelped in surprise when her shimmering gold skirt slipped to the floor amid a crowd rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Unfazed, Lopez smiled, strutted across the stage, and quipped, “I’m out here in my underwear.”
She then tossed the skirt into the audience, adding at the song’s end, “I’m glad I had underwear on—I don’t usually wear underwear.” Spotting the fan who caught it, she laughed, “Yes! You can keep it. You can have it. I don’t want it back.”
The incident, captured around the two-minute mark in fan videos, occurred during Lopez’s Up All Night Live Tour—her first in six years. Launched on July 8 in Spain, the 19-date trek spans Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, wrapping up on August 10 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Originally, Lopez planned a This Is Me … Live Tour last summer but canceled it due to low ticket sales and her separation from Ben Affleck, whose divorce was finalized earlier this year. Reflecting on the tough period, she told Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, “I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life. And I’m glad I did, because it was a really difficult time for me. Probably the hardest time of my life, but it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself.”
She praised her supporters, adding, “I have the most understanding and loving fans in the world. Some fan bases can be spicy. Mine are just a bunch of lovers.”
Beyond the stage, Lopez stars in Bill Condon’s Kiss of the Spider Woman, hitting theaters on October 10. The musical drama, adapted from Manuel Puig’s novel, follows two prisoners forming an unlikely bond over a Hollywood musical. It echoes previous adaptations, including the 1985 film with William Hurt and the 1993 Broadway musical.
