In an announcement that sent shockwaves through the global music community, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and British artist Zayn Malik have officially confirmed their long-rumored collaboration. The two international stars are teaming up for a digital single titled Eyes Closed, marking the first musical partnership between the K-pop sensation and the former One Direction member.

The news broke on October 8, when Jisoo took to Instagram to reveal a striking black-and-white teaser image. The promotional photo shows both artists dressed in sleek black outfits, exuding confidence and mystery. Jisoo, positioned front and center, meets the camera’s gaze with quiet determination, while Zayn’s presence in the background adds an understated but compelling charm. Her caption read simply, “JISOO X ZAYN Digital Single ‘EYES CLOSED’,” confirming what fans had been speculating about for days.

Over the weekend, followers had already noticed a string of cryptic posts featuring lines such as “two voices, one orbit” and “a duet is near.” These teasers rapidly fueled buzz across social platforms, with fans guessing possible collaborators. Once Zayn was revealed as the mystery partner, excitement erupted worldwide, pushing both artists into trending topics across multiple countries.

For Jisoo, Eyes Closed marks her first music release since her acclaimed solo EP Amortage dropped in February. That project featured standout tracks such as Earthquake and Your Love, showcasing her versatility beyond BLACKPINK’s signature sound. Currently, Jisoo is on a brief break from the group’s blockbuster Deadline World Tour, scheduled to resume on October 18 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Meanwhile, Zayn Malik continues to evolve as a solo artist. Known for global hits like Pillowtalk and Let Me, he has steadily built a reputation for blending pop, R&B, and alternative influences. His collaboration with Jisoo represents a bold step toward further globalizing his artistry while introducing him to K-pop audiences.

This partnership follows Malik’s appearance at BLACKPINK’s New York concert on July 27, where he attended with his daughter, Khai. He later took to social media to thank the group, writing that both he and his daughter “loved it,” hinting at his growing connection to the K-pop scene.

With anticipation building across streaming platforms and social media, Eyes Closed is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most talked-about releases. Fans are eager to see how Jisoo’s refined vocal style and Zayn’s soulful tone combine in this high-profile collaboration that promises to link two of the world’s most passionate fanbases—BLINKs and Zquad—in a single moment of pop music history.
