Fans of Korean dramas have an exciting reason to celebrate this holiday season—the much-awaited action fantasy series Cashero has dropped its official trailer. Headlined by Lee Jun Ho and Kim Hye Joon, this fresh addition to the K-drama universe is blending humor, quirky storytelling, and offbeat superhero antics, all set to stream in India on Netflix from December 26, 2024. In an added treat for binge-watchers, all eight episodes will be available the same day.

A Unique Superhero Storyline

Adapted from a popular webtoon, Cashero steps away from conventional superhero tropes. At its heart is Sang-ung, portrayed by Lee Jun Ho—a weary, middle-class office employee juggling everyday struggles like rent payments, wedding savings, and daily expenses. His life takes a surreal turn when he discovers an unusual power: his strength increases in proportion to the cash he carries.

The trailer showcases this whimsical premise with comedic flair, revealing moments when Sang-ung loses control as money bursts from his pockets during feats of strength. Kim Hye Joon plays Min-suk, his supportive yet often bemused girlfriend, who finds herself caught in the chaos of his newfound abilities.

A Team of Unconventional Heroes

The series expands beyond one eccentric protagonist, introducing others with equally peculiar powers. Byun Ho-in (Kim Byung Chul), a lawyer, can pass through solid objects—but only when intoxicated. Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang Gi) gains telekinesis after indulging in calorie-heavy meals. Together, this unlikely ensemble forms a ragtag team of “heroes” whose lives are far from glamorous.

Villains and High-Stakes Drama

Conflict arrives in the form of the Human League—a dangerous trio played by Lee Chae Min, Kang Han Na, and Kim Eui Sung. Their presence promises intense confrontations as Sang-ung, often short on cash but driven by a strong sense of justice, is pulled into battles beyond his imagination.

The promotional poster adds depth to the narrative, depicting Sang-ung battered and disheveled, distancing him from the polished cinematic superhero archetype. His companions stand behind him, hinting at the chaotic journey ahead.

Notable Cameos and Holiday Release

Adding further star appeal, Cashero features guest appearances by Kim Ji-ahn as Min-suk’s mother and a cameo from Mun Ka Young. With its blend of action, comedy, emotional beats, and unconventional powers, Cashero is set to be one of the most talked-about K-dramas of the season.

Streaming in India: Cashero premieres on Netflix India on December 26, with all episodes available immediately for a full binge-watch experience.
