The BRIT Awards 2026 has unveiled its full slate of nominees, and this year’s list is making headlines for its groundbreaking recognition of global talent. In a historic moment for the music industry, BLACKPINK’s Rosé has etched her name in the record books as the first K-pop solo artist ever to receive a nomination in the prestigious International Song of the Year category.
The nomination is for her massive collaborative hit, “APT” with Bruno Mars. The track, a standout from her acclaimed solo album Rosie, continues its award-winning streak over a year after its initial release. “APT” will compete against powerhouse anthems like Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild,” Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” and Gigi Perez’s “Sailor Song.” This nomination cements Rosé’s unparalleled achievement: “APT” has now garnered Song of the Year nominations at the world’s three most prestigious music ceremonies—the Grammys, the VMAs, and now the BRITs.
Adding to his impressive tally, Bruno Mars secures a second nomination in the same category for his chart-topping collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Die With A Smile.”
In another unprecedented move, the International Group of the Year category welcomes its first-ever animated nominee. The virtual trio HUNTR/X, featuring the voices of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami from the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, has earned a spot for their electrifying track “Golden.” This nomination not only highlights the song’s popularity but also signifies the evolving and expanding definition of a “music group” in the modern era. The act is also nominated for International Group of the Year, facing competition from bands like Haim and Tame Impala.
The 2026 BRIT Awards, presented by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) to celebrate the year’s finest in popular music, features a total of 16 categories. This year, the field is led by singer-songwriters Olivia Dean and Lola Young, who each boast an impressive five nominations.
