Director Krish Jagarlamudi’s highly anticipated action thriller Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu in the lead roles, is scheduled to premiere on July 11 this year, according to an announcement made by the film’s producers on Monday.
The movie, which has stirred great excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts, was initially planned for release on April 18. However, the makers later chose to delay the launch without confirming a new date at that time.
Anushka Shetty, who rarely posts on social media, personally shared the update on her X account. She wrote, “#Ghaati GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON JULY 11th. #GhaatiFromJuly11th. Starring @iamVikramPrabhu. Directed by the phenomenal @DirKrish. Proudly produced by @UV_Creations & @FirstFrame_Ent. Music on @adityamusic.”
To mark the announcement, the actress also unveiled a fresh poster depicting Anushka, Vikram Prabhu, and others carrying bags as they cross a river, hinting at a tense and compelling journey ahead.
Presented by UV Creations and produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi, Ghaati marks the second time Anushka Shetty has collaborated with director Krish, following their successful hit film Vedam.
Notably, this will be Anushka’s fourth film with the production house UV Creations.
The makers have revealed that Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu portrays the male lead, Desi Raju, in the film. A teaser video released on Vikram Prabhu’s birthday earlier this year showed him being pursued by the police through dense forests and rugged mountainous terrain. The sequence features intense action scenes where he battles enemies. The action-packed portion concludes on a lighter note with a romantic moment, as Vikram and Anushka ride their bikes side by side, exchanging smiles, indicating strong chemistry between their characters.
This sneak peek suggests that the film will blend adrenaline-pumping action with a captivating love story.
The tagline, “Victim, Criminal, Legend,” reflects the film’s distinctive narrative, exploring the blurred boundaries between good and evil, survival and morality.
“Ghaati” promises an intense exploration of the darker aspects of human nature, where characters face their pasts, make difficult decisions, and seek redemption.
Cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani will vividly capture the world of Ghaati through striking visuals, while Nagavelli Vidya Sagar’s music will elevate the film’s intense atmosphere.
The art direction is handled by National Award winner Thota Tharrani, with editing by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N Swamy. With Sai Madhav Burra crafting sharp dialogues, the movie aims to captivate viewers with its powerful storytelling.
Set to release in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, Ghaati is gearing up for a grand worldwide release on July 11 this year.
