The trailer for Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty was released on Thursday, offering a glimpse into significant changes ahead for Belly.

Portrayed by Lola Tung, Belly has seemingly made her choice, and it’s Jeremiah. The teaser begins with Belly confiding in her mother about her decision regarding her childhood friend-turned-lover, concluding with a shot of her walking down the aisle.

Regarding her first love, Conrad—who is also Jeremiah’s older brother—Belly expresses that the kind of love she shares with him is something that you can “only really do the first time.”

While acknowledging the importance of first loves, she emphasizes that they don’t hold as much significance as last loves, asserting, “Jeremiah, he’s my future,” which indicates her desire to move on from her complicated relationship with Conrad.

Belly informs her mom of her and Jeremiah’s plans to get married, but her mother, played by Jackie Chung, reacts in surprise. “I’m sorry, what?” she asks, expressing concern over their readiness for such a commitment, emphasizing, “You’re talking about a lifetime.”

Belly candidly shares her thoughts, admitting, “When I’m with Jer, everything is easier, but everywhere I go, there’s a memory of Conrad.”

The trailer includes a blend of Taylor Swift’s songs “Daylight” and “Red,” which were also featured in the initial teaser.

Inspired by Jenny Han’s book series, Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty continues at the close of Belly’s junior year in college, where she and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalengo) are in a dedicated relationship. However, unexpected events bring Conrad (Christopher Briney) back into her life, forcing Belly to resolve the love triangle.

Towards the trailer’s conclusion, as Swift’s “Red” resonates, Belly is flooded with memories from her time with Conrad. The tension escalates when Jeremiah appears to punch his brother, leading to a scene of Belly running away in tears and a potential car crash. As she reaches a pivotal decision, she is seen walking down the aisle in a white dress, holding a bouquet.

“Life’s too short not to spend it with the person you love,” she declares.

The central question remains: Who will Belly ultimately choose, Conrad or Jeremiah?

Season 3 consists of 11 episodes and will wrap up the narrative, with Han serving as the showrunner alongside Sarah Kucserka. Han, Kucserka, and Karen Rosenfelt are executive producers, with Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen representing wiip. The series is a joint production by Amazon Studios and wiip.

The final season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is set to debut on Prime Video on July 16.
