Netflix and Hulu are gearing up for the debut of Innate, a gripping Spanish psychological thriller that promises to keep audiences hooked from start to finish.

Produced by Plano a Plano Bilbao in collaboration with Dynamic Television, Innate (Innato in Spanish) will premiere in Spain on Netflix on December 23, 2025, before making its way to Hulu for U.S. viewers later in the year. The series marks Dynamic Television’s first venture into Spanish-language content and adds to Netflix’s growing slate of international thrillers.

The eight-episode drama stars acclaimed actress Elena Anaya as Sara, a respected psychologist who has built a seemingly stable life with her husband Aitor (played by Roberto Álamo) and their teenage son Sebas (Teo Soler). Beneath her calm exterior lies a devastating secret: Sara is the daughter of Félix Garay (Imanol Arias), a convicted serial killer once infamously dubbed “the Diesel Killer” by the press.

The story intensifies when Félix is unexpectedly released from prison. His freedom coincides with a disturbing string of new murders that mirror the crimes he committed decades earlier. As whispers of suspicion swirl, Sara must confront the painful truth she has long hidden from her family — a truth that threatens to dismantle her carefully guarded life.

Described by its creators as “a powerful exploration of family, trauma, and buried truths,” Innate is expected to appeal to both domestic and international audiences. The supporting cast includes Emma Suárez, Aura Garrido, Ane Gabarain, Clara Sans, and Natalia Huarte, adding depth to the series’ ensemble.

The project was developed by Spanish writers Fran Carballal and Enrique Lojo, with direction from Lino Escalera (known for Élite) and Inma Torrente (Valeria). Its dual release strategy reflects the growing appetite for Spanish-language thrillers across global streaming platforms.

While Spain has a confirmed release date for Netflix, Hulu’s U.S. premiere is set for “later in 2025,” following the Spanish debut. Details on availability in other territories, such as the UK and India, remain unannounced. Viewers can expect the series to stream in its original Spanish, with subtitling and dubbing options standard for both platforms.

With its tense storyline, high-caliber cast, and cross-platform launch, Innate is positioned to be one of the most talked-about thrillers of 2025. Fans of suspenseful dramas will want to mark their calendars — this is one psychological ride not to miss.
