November is shaping up to be a massive month for Marvel fans, but before Disney+ drops its new lineup, Paramount+ is stealing the spotlight to wrap up October with a major return. The streaming platform has been rolling out fresh titles all month, and now, just over a year since its last chapter, one of its biggest hits is back.

Jeremy Renner, known worldwide as Marvel’s Hawkeye, reprises his acclaimed role in Mayor of Kingstown, which premiered its two-episode Season 4 debut on October 26th, exclusively on Paramount+. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the mind behind Yellowstone, this gripping crime thriller unfolds in the fictional industrial town of Kingstown, Michigan. The series revolves around the McLusky family, who act as intermediaries between prisoners, law enforcement, and the townspeople in a community where incarceration fuels the local economy.

Renner portrays Mike McLusky, the town’s morally complex “mayor,” leading a talented ensemble that includes Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Necar Zadegan. New to the cast this season is Edie Falco, adding even more star power to the drama.

Season 4 will consist of 10 episodes, with new installments dropping every Sunday at 3 a.m. ET through December 21st. Since its debut in 2021, Mayor of Kingstown has evolved from a sleeper hit into one of Paramount+’s strongest original dramas. The show has earned steadily improving critical scores—jumping from 33% on Rotten Tomatoes in its first season to 78% by Season 3—while maintaining an audience rating near 80%.

Although critics have yet to release a full consensus for the latest season, early responses have been overwhelmingly positive. Collider’s Jeff Ewing praised Season 4 for raising the stakes and delivering the show’s most emotional and suspenseful moments yet. Screen Rant’s Grant Hermanns echoed that sentiment, calling this new chapter the “darkest and most intense” so far. Reviewer Brittany Frederick described this season as the show’s “best yet,” noting that it serves as a “soft reset” while staying true to its gritty tone.

The buzz reflects the show’s continued success. Known for its raw realism, emotional depth, and unflinching portrayal of crime and power dynamics, Mayor of Kingstown continues to captivate audiences. While Paramount+ has not yet confirmed a Season 5 renewal, prospects look strong. Back in August, Renner revealed to Popverse that the team has already envisioned an ideal conclusion to the story, hinting that the series could wrap up within two more seasons.

Fans can now stream the first two episodes of Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 on Paramount+, with new episodes arriving weekly. If early reviews are any indication, this season promises to be the most gripping chapter yet in Renner and Sheridan’s hit drama.

Mayor of Kingstown can be watched on JioHotstar in India.
