Ranbir Kapoor appeared on Kareena Kapoor’s talk show What Women Want and gave his opinion about Uorfi Javed’s bold fashion sense.
Although she had a short stint on Bigg Boss OTT, Uorfi Javed has become one of the most-talked about contestants, mainly due to her outfits.
She is frequently seen wearing revealing ensembles, sometimes made of unorthodox materials like safety pins.
As a result, her outfits have polarised the masses, with people praising and criticising her fashion sense.
Among those voicing their opinion was Ranbir Kapoor.
The actor was a guest on Kareena’s show to promote his recently released film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor.
During one segment, Kareena asked Ranbir for his opinion on several actresses dressed in various outfits.
The twist was that the actress’ faces were not displayed.
It’s interesting to see that Ranbir correctly identified them based on their attire and made judgements about their “good” or “bad” taste.
A picture of Uorfi Javed was placed in front of Ranbir, and Kareena said:
“I think you know who this person is.”
Ranbir reacted and accurately predicted: “Is it Uorfi?”
Speaking about her fashion sense, he said:
“I am not a big fan of this kind of fashion. But I believe that we are living in a world today where if you are comfortable in your skin…”
Kareena interrupted him mid-sentence and questioned:
“Good taste or bad taste Ranbir?”
He answered: “Bad taste.”
Kareena then displayed a poster of Priyanka Chopra, who was dressed in an elegant gown.
Ranbir answered: “PeeCee is awesome. So, good taste. I think she has a lot of carriages and she pulls it off.
“Because she has this self-confidence. And if you have self-confidence, you can pull off anything.”
Uorfi, who is fairly vocal on social media, has not yet responded to Ranbir’s remarks.
Uorfi Javed’s polarising fashion sense has been the topic of discussion among celebrities.
Although she is criticised for her bold fashion sense, Uorfi is also praised.
In contrast to Ranbir Kapoor’s comments, Ranveer Singh praised her outfits.
On an episode of Koffee With Karan, Ranveer called her a “fashion icon”.
On the show, Karan asked Ranveer: “Whose nightmare would it be to repeat an outfit too quickly?”
He replied: “Uorfi Javed.”
Ranveer then praised her: “Yeah she is a fashion icon.”
