'Toofaan' to premiere on Amazon Prime on July 16

The power packed sports drama Toofaan starring Farhan Akhtar will premiere on Amazon Prime on July 16 as announced by Farhan himself on the micro blogging site Twitter today.


While sharing the date, Farhan quipped, “With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime”

The film whose shooting was completed long back got delayed and missed the streaming date several times with latest one being on May 21 but the second wave of Covid-19 has unfortunately pushed the release date further. Now with the country limping back to the new normal after months of suffering, Toofaan got a new date for its premiere on Amazon Prime.

The story of Toofaan revolves around an orphan Ajju Bhai who grows up to be a local goon in Dongri of Mumbai. His life undergoes a transformation after meeting Ananya, who instils new kind of confidence and zeal in Ajju making him a boxing champion Aziz Ali who embarks on a journey to conquer the world.

After the path breaking Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Farhan Akhtar has teamed with up with it’s director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to make Toofaan on his home banner Excel Entertainments along with Ritesh Sidwani.

Toofaan also stars Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur, Supriya Pathak, Vijay Raaz, Mohan Agashe, Hussain Dalal, and Darshan Kumaar in important characters.

Toofaan is going to be another movie which will be high on motivation and emotions that drives a good-for-nothing individual to the highest altar of achievement as a champion not only in the boxing ring but in the life too that is going to be an inspiration for many others to raise the bar.
