BTS‘s V revealed that a Netflix series changed his thoughts on acting.
It’s been seven years since V made his acting debut in K-Drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth alongside his now-friends Park Seo Joon and ZE:A‘s Park Hyung Sik.
V guested on fellow idol-actor IU‘s show IU’s Palette to promote his debut solo album Layover. During it, she asked him if he wanted to continue acting.
IU: Do you have any plans for your acting career in the future?
V: I do.
V confirmed that he would like to continue acting. So, IU asked what kind of project he would like to try, to which he replied, “Thriller!”
IU: What kind of piece would you like to try?
V revealed that a Netflix show changed his mindset about acting, and it’s not Squid Game. He shared that it was the British dark comedy series The End of the F***ing World, based on Charles Forsman‘s mini-comics of the same name, which IU agreed, “I love that series.”

So, V hopes to play a character similar to the protagonist of James, whom Alex Lawther portrayed. James is an outcast teen who “believes himself to be a psychopath.”
When people ask me, ‘Is there a role you want to play?’ I tell them this protagonist of The End of the F***ing World.
Previously, V shared about how actors, such as Heath Ledger, have influenced him. In another recent interview, he expressed his desire to play a villain. Read more below.
