Young Rebel Star Prabhas, revered by millions after stupendous success of the epic movie Bahubali has now transformed into a lover boy in his latest venture Radhe Shyam which was released worldwide in theatres finally after a series of postponements.
This transformation triggers a series of serious doubts about the choices being made by Prabhas after the success of Bahubali. Saaho which was released after Bahubali could not do much for Prabhas though he has managed to capture some more hearts in Northern parts of the country. Weak story line and amateurish presentation has caused the debacle of Saaho which remains a forgettable film for Prabhas.
Prabhas who has found a perfect match earlier in Darling and Mr Perfect which made him a darling for class and mass audience alike wanted to repeat the same magic in Radhe Shyam but it turned out to be a damp squib which again is not going to add any value to the career of Prabhas.
Again a weak predictable story line, slow pace, and sluggish narrative made Radhe Shyam a film that has gone awry by all means.
The chemistry between the lead pair, Prabhas and Pooja Hegde looked out of focus and the beautiful locales of Europe especially Italy could not ignite the chemistry between them on screen and this is the main drawback of the film as it’s the chemistry that matters most in a love story. Though both Prabhas and Pooja has done their best, the desirable spark is missing between them.
Those who want to see the macho image of Prabhas on the screen will be disappointed as it is the USP of this young hero which he needs to project and protect unless he gets a very good script and efficient director to explore other genres like love as in Radhe Shyam to experiment with. This is where Prabhas has to make self-introspection about the choices of films he is doing post Bahubali as too many wrong choices at this point of career will relegate him to the lower rung which should not happen keeping in mind the caliber and immense talent possessed by Prabhas, not forgetting the enormous following he enjoys across the world.
Moreover, after pandemic the audience have become more choosy and they are not ready to throng the theatres like before for nothing. The slow paced films, routine love stories without any novelty or entertainment value are not being preferred by audience as they doesn’t want to go to theaters to watch some substandard stuff irrespective of huge casting. They are more particular about their choices after pandemic and film makers should note this while making films in future.
Radhe Shaym had some brighter spots in the form of mesmerizing cinematography, rich production designing along with amazing art work and great VFX effects.
Even if you are a die hard Prabhas fan, stay away as Radhe Shyam is going to break the heart and leave a bitter taste with it’s mediocrity.
We will come to know more about the outcome of choices made by Prabhas when the three forthcoming biggies Salaar, Adipurush, and Project K hit the theaters in near future.
