Many media outlets have reported in recent days that Nawazuddin Siddiqui supports the ban on this year’s most controversial film, “The Kerala Story.” It’s also becoming viral on social media. However, Nawaz has now decided to put an end to this rumour.
The actor took to Twitter today to dispute “false” rumours that he backed the ban on “The Kerala Story.” He also remarked that he will never support a film ban, referring to it as a ‘cheap TRP’ strategy employed by some media outlets without naming any portal.
His tweet reads: “Please stop spreading false news just to get some views and hits, it’s called cheap TRP – I never said and I would never want any film to be banned ever. STOP BANNING FILMS. STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS !!!

He told a news portal that if a film or a novel is hurting someone, then that’s wrong. We don’t make films to hurt the audience or their sentiments”.
He further told the news portal that we should make films to foster social harmony and love among people. “It’s our responsibility to propagate the same. But if a film has the power to break people and social harmony, it’s extremely wrong. Humein isse duniya ko jodna hai, todna nahi hai.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Kerala Story’ which stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani and is helmed by Sudipto Sen has minted a whopping 206.97 crores nett at the Indian box office in just 19 days.
Nawazuddin, on the other hand, just had his latest romantic comedy flick ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ released today, May 26, where he was cast opposite Neha Sharma. Kushan Nandy directed the film, which was scripted by Ghalib Asad Arora.
