Lehar Khan, the youngest actor in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, opened up to Hindustan Times about her experience on set and the difficult phase in her life when she almost gave up her acting career. King Khan plays Azad and she plays Kalki, one of Azad’s six girls in the film, alongside Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, and Aaliyah Qureishi. She told Hindustan Times that she was “nervous” at first, but that Shah Rukh Khan and the rest of the cast and crew made her feel welcome.
“They were all so supportive,” she said. “Shah Rukh sir is such a humble and down-to-earth person. He made me feel like I was part of the family.” King Khan also talked to her and talked about the difficult phase in her life when she almost gave up her acting career. She said that she was going through a lot of personal problems at the time, and that she felt like she wasn’t good enough.
“I was about to quit,” she said. “But then I realized that I couldn’t give up on my dream. I knew that I had to keep going.” SRK is glad that she didn’t give up on her dream. She said that Jawan is a “dream come true” for her, and that she’s grateful for the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan. “I’m so excited for the film came out in such a big way as expected,” she said. “I can’t wait to see what people think about me.”
Further talking about her experience on the set, she said, The Jawan set was a warm and welcoming place. Everyone was passionate about the film and was working together to create something special. As a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, being on set was a surreal and overwhelming experience.
