“Dr. Romantic” has teased Lee Sung Kyung’s return as Cha Eun Jae in Season 3!
SBS’s hit series “Dr. Romantic” depicts the story of sincere doctors working in the countryside at the rundown Doldam Hospital. Season 1, which first aired in 2016, recorded a personal best viewership rating of 27.6 percent, while Season 2 in 2020 concluded on a personal best record of 27.1 percent.
Han Suk Kyu, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Sung Kyung, Kim Min Jae, So Ju Yeon, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, Byun Woo Min, and Jung Ji Ahn have all been confirmed to be reprising their roles in the upcoming third season.
In the drama’s upcoming third season, Lee Sung Kyung will return as cardiothoracic surgeon Cha Eun Jae. Last season, “Dr. Romantic” followed Cha Eun Jae’s story as an elite up-and-coming medical professional who was always smothered with praise and high expectations. Despite the apparent path of success Cha Eun Jae was on, she meets an unexpected hurdle due to her fear of performing surgery. Eventually, she’s chased down to Doldam Hospital and meets her mentor Dr. Kim (Han Suk Kyu) who helps her overcome that fear and become a true doctor.
Cha Eun Jae’s first Season 3 stills show just how much she’s grown in the three years since the ending of Season 2. She is now a surgeon the cardiothoracic department cannot function without and also oversees younger doctors. As Cha Eun Jae newly adopts a leadership role at Doldam Hospital, viewers can look forward to seeing what kind of image she will show in the upcoming season.
