Chennai actress Swathishta Krishnan has been locked as the heroine for an upcoming yet to be titled movie directed by Simple Suni and starring Vinay Rajkumar. Vinay is the grandson of Kannada superstar actor Rajkumar. Swathishta Krishnan, who played the role of Kamal Hassan’s daughter-in-law in the super hit movie ‘Vikram’, hails from Karnataka. Born and brought up in Chennai, Swathishta Krishnan has already acted in a couple of movies in Tamil and now she is foray in Sandalwood.
During the media interaction, Swathishta Krishnan revealed, “I was born and brought up in Chennai. We speak Kannada at home. Since my college days, I wanted to act in films. I acted as the second heroine in Miskin’s movie ‘Savara Katthi’. While waiting for a good opportunity in Tamil, an offer came from Vikram. After that I was getting similar roles. But I didn’t agree. This movie was offered by Suni and after hearing its story, I agreed.”
Suni said, “I was clear that I wanted a Kannadada hudugi, which has been my priority with all my movies. I had watched Swathishta Krishnan in Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram and was impressed by how she carried her role. When I got to know Swathishta was our own Uttara Karnataka hudugi, I was happy and now she is on the board,”
