It has been reported that Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira is getting married in October 2023.
The reports came to light after a story was published in the Bombay Times. A source had said to the newspaper:
“The couple has planned an elaborate wedding ceremony in Udaipur.
“It’s a three-day affair, and the festivities will include their friends and extended family, members.
“This one, too, will be an intimate affair minus the presence of any people from the film industry.
“The father of the bride (Aamir) is extremely excited and is closely involved with the planning.”
It also stated that Ira and Nupur Shikare will be getting married on October 3, 2023.
The report excited fans, however, Ira has now broken her silence on the matter.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Ira shared a photo of the news story and refuted the claims.
She wrote: “No no… Not getting married on 3rd October!
“Later, you’ll know when because I’ll be so excited that it will be hard to not notice @nupur_popeye.”
Ira has been engaged to Nupur since September 2022.
Ira had attended one of Nupur’s cycling events during which he proposed to her. She shared the video of the romantic proposal.
In the clip, she was seen standing in the audience along with other people.
Nupur walked toward her and kissed her cutely before surprising her by going down on his knees.
He then asks her: “Will you marry me?”
To this, Ira happily takes the mic and replies: “Yes.”
The couple kissed again while others cheered and clapped. Sharing the post, Ira wrote:
“Popeye: She said yes. Ira: Hehe I said yes.”
Although the marriage rumours were dismissed, other reports have said that they are actually getting married in January 2024.
Ira previously revealed how she met fitness trainer Nupur.
She explained: “Popeye [Nupur] began training me when I was 17. I saw him as this super fit human, whose physical capabilities I aspired to have.
“Steadily we became friends and later, we started dating.”
Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare, who got into a relationship in 2020, have been making headlines for impeccable chemistry.
The couple made their relationship official in 2021.
Ira Khan is Aamir Khan’s daughter from his first wife, producer Reena Dutta. The couple is also parents to Junaid Khan.
