I’m Gonna Tell God Everything: Story
The film opens by introducing a Christian couple from Aleppo, Syria. They have two children: a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, and are worried about them as they live in a colony where a civil war is going on.
There is a big bang of a bomb blast, which all of them see through the window. Just then, they are informed on television that their colony is under attack and the cruel militants will not hesitate to kill anyone, even if they are kids or women.
While the kids are clueless about the whole situation, their mother prepares them to face death by saying, “If somebody comes with guns, close your eyes and sing. You will be with God. ”
One day, the militant group attacks the family and kills them. However, the 5-year-old kid who is in hiding manages to survive. Unfortunately, the bomb blast burns their house, causing major injuries to him. He was rescued and brought to the hospital.
He bonds with an American female doctor there, which makes her emotional and teary-eyed as the boy is unaware of the fact that he is dying soon. In the climax, we see the militants of both groups, who are also admitted there, still arguing over their ideologies. The kid realizes the cruelty of the world. Just before death, the kid says, “I’m gonna tell God everything,” which makes militants and hospital staff emotional.
I’m Gonna Tell God Everything: Review
The short film successfully manages to leave an impact with its hard-hitting message about the brutality of this world and innocent kids. From dialogue and expression to background music, everything has been done right. Child actor Vivaan Bisoi’s character, Youseef, displays an innocence that will steal your heart. At the same time, the scenes of explosions and destruction, terrified people, and militants attacking and killing families will leave you terrified.
All in all, the movie is a blend of different emotions and meaningful content that makes a perfect film. Though it is a short film, every actor has aced their part, giving full justice to their characters.
I liked this short film a lot and will recommend it to you all. In a world full of movies with star power, worthy content is what the audience craves. The meaningful plot and the flawless portrayal add the essence of reality to the movie, making it a must-watch offering.
