… But, why exactly?
Though her co-star Catelynn Lowell has confirmed that Amber is no longer on the show, it’s left many wondering whether she quit or was fired.

There have been many hints that Amber Portwood‘s time on MTV has come to an end recently.
In a report from The Sun, a source told the outlet that the 32-year-old mother has quit MTV altogether.
“Amber has told people she is absolutely out at the show, that she already quit and gave notice to MTV,” the source said. A second source confirmed that she didn’t have a plan after the show, but that she was ready fr a career move.
But it wasn’t long before a conflicting report surfaced.
Another source told The Sun that Amber has not officially quit the show and was still deciding what to do.
Now, Amber’s costar Catelynn Lowell has confirmed that Amber is no longer on the show.
Instagram account @Teenmomchatter shared that Catelynn claimed that Amber “quit and was not fired.”
But @teenmomchatter itself argued, “That’s a lie. She was ghosted.”
While we await official reports, fans have continued to speculate after the truth.
“Translation: Amber ‘quit’ after being fired/ghosted,” one reddit user theorized.
“I’m actually sort of shocked that she hasn’t gone on IG Live to vent about this,” they wrote. “I also agree with another poster that she likely demanded that Ashley be fired or Ambo will walk. And then MTV showed her the door.”
“Can’t believe she’s actually leaving and it’s so… anticlimactic,” another wrote. “Is this really about the Ashley drama? Because getting fired for the machete incident would have made a lot more sense.”
Many were also disappointed to see Catelynn sticking up for someone with a history of abusive behavior.
“Cate needs to stop riding so hard for someone so problematic. Not a good look,” one commenter wrote on Reddit.
