Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, who have now completed almost three decades, met for the first time at a party in Delhi when Shah Rukh was 18 and Gauri were 14. In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Shah Rukh revealed that their puzzle date took place by the pool at Delhi’s Panchsheela Club, and the couple spent their last five minutes nervously sipping cola. Eventually, SRK gets Gauri’s number and starts calling her home pretending to be a friend named Shaheen.

If there is one couple that everyone is talking about, it is Alia-Ranbir. The couple tied the knot on April 14, 2022. Though their relationship was confirmed only in 2018, Bhatt and Kapoor have known each other for over a decade now. Alia once said in an interview that she has known Ranbir since the age of 11. Alia had said that she had a crush on him since the first time she auditioned for Black in 2005. And she often kept looking at his picture.

Like more millennials hooking up, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ romance began online, with direct messages on Twitter to be specific. “It was Nick who sent the first message,” Chopra revealed in a Vogue interview post her wedding. What did Jonas say to the star? His first message, sent on September 8, 2016, read “I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet.” Chopra responded saying, “My team can read this. Why don’t you just text me” and the rest, as they say, is history. Fun fact: On one of the couple’s first dates, Jonas ended the night not with a kiss, but a pat on Chopra’s back. “I thought it was a respectful first night.” Chopra’s reaction? “It was too respectful if you ask me.”

Given that both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan come from Bollywood families, it comes as no surprise that the stars knew of one another for years before coming together. In fact, Saif first met Kareena when she was a young girl spending time on her older sister Karisma Kapoor’s movie set. Saif has, in the past, revealed that he was “bowled over” by Kareena’s beauty back then. The couple’s relationship, however, kickstarted years later on the sets of Tashan (2008).

Now married for over a decade, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan first met each other on the sets of her debut Bollywood film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (1997), but it was only in 2000 that the actors became friends while working together on Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. When did they actually fall for each other? Some say the duo’s relationship started on the sets of Bunty Aur Babli (2005), in which Aishwarya made a cameo. “It feels like we’ve spent our entire lives together, but it’s still a thrill to wake up and see her lying next to me,” Abhishek told Vogue India in 2010.

He’s a cricketer, she’s a Bollywood star, but Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli didn’t first meet on a movie set or at a match. Instead, the two happened upon each other because they were signed on for the same television commercial for a shampoo brand. Some of their cutest moments as a new couple include the time Kohli blew Sharma a kiss from the cricket pitch in Hyderabad and of course, the couple’s very first public outing as a couple at 2015’s Vogue Beauty Awards in Mumbai.

The first time Bollywood fans saw Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh together on the silver screen was 2013, when they came together for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. But the duo, who tied the knot in 2018, first met in 2012 during an awards show overseas. In an interview Ranveer says, “The first time I saw her, I almost went flat!” admitted that he still remembers the silver gown Padukone was wearing that evening.
